They are our last defense. Or so they think. The Concept: Last Men challenges many of the comic book clich?s -- just as the movie "Scream" satirized the horror film genre. The world of the Last Men is closely connected to our own reality. The team doesn't consist of a goddess from Africa, a circus freak from Germany or a young Russian farmer. Instead, June Chow is a sales associate at the Gap. Jay Harryhausen is an unemployed Star Wars fan. Daniel North proudly "outs" himself as a "meta" on the Jerry Springer Show. They ain't your daddy's angst-ridden-spandex-wearin'-heroes surviving in a world that fears and loathes them. But what's Last Men really about? Sure, they're young adults coping with their incredible powers, but let's just say sex, video games, Slurpees, Scooby-Doo re-runs and the fight against evil are all just in a day's work. Everything they know about being superheroes they learned from comic books. So, if they're our last defense, be afraid. Be very afraid...
